Good Formatting Is Invisible
Nobody finishes a book and compliments the margins. They do, however, abandon one where the chapter openers jump around, the paragraphs are indented inconsistently, or the Kindle edition renders as a wall of text. Formatting is the difference between a manuscript and a book, and it is the most common reason a self-published title reads as amateur.

Formatting Questions
How long does formatting take?
A standard text-only book is typically formatted within 5 to 7 business days of receiving the final manuscript. Illustrated books, cookbooks and anything with complex tables take longer, and we confirm a date before starting.
What file do I need to send?
A finished Word document is ideal. Google Docs, Pages and Scrivener exports are fine too. What matters is that the manuscript is final — formatting should happen after editing and proofreading, not before.
Can you format a fixed-layout children's book?
Yes. Illustrated and fixed-layout titles are handled as a separate specification, because image placement, colour profiles and the eBook build all work differently from standard text.
What if I need changes after delivery?
Two rounds of revisions are included. Because we hand over the editable source file, later corrections are also straightforward — whether you come back to us or handle them yourself.
Do you format books you did not edit?
All the time. Send us the manuscript and we will run a free file check first, flagging anything that should be fixed before it is typeset.
